The World In a Raindrop
Ethiopian Opal was discovered in Gondar on a plateau in the highlands. Only the locals are allowed to mine this field and the government has even supplied basic tools. Opals from this field are known as Ethiopian Opal from Welo, and are renowned for their bright and spectacular colors.
The World in a Raindrop features 3.31 carats of scintillating, Grade AAA Ethiopian Welo opal, which has been hand-crafted into a 2-inch by 11/8-inch pendant of sterling silver, copper and brass. Accompanied by an 18-inch shimmering, sterling silver chain, it is a one-of-a kind tribute to the wonders which can be discovered in our geological world.
