Our original watercolor of a Winter scene features both Birches and a Northern Cardinal. The Birch tree is an elegant symbol of nature. The silvery white bark looks sophisticated and graceful,  but under this beauty there exists a strong, wilfulness to grow where nothing else can. One of the first species to regrow in places of a forest, it can thrive in harsh conditions of low nutrient soils and colder climates.In Spring, it’s one of the first trees to regrow leaves.  The cardinal also has a number of poignant symbols.  It is seen as a symbol of hope and joy, new beginnings, particularly during challenging times like during the bitter cold of winter.
