Dreamscape Jewelry Design

Change is Coming!

“Growth demands a temporary surrender of security.” – Gail Sheehy

My first jewelry show was in the small town of Danforth, Maine in the Summer of 2010.  The residents were celebrating “Danforth Days, and for $25 dollars I could have a table. My jewelry was displayed on a 2 by 8 folding table covered by a white cloth I can still remember the excitement when I actually sold my first pair of earrings.

Fast forward to September 2018.

Ron, with his roles as a silversmith, fellow designer and self professed “roadie” is an integral part of our business.  We’ve expanded basic jewelry to include a variety of lines ranging from our Silverstone Collection and leather jewelry to sterling silver charm bracelets. Our first show took 15 minutes to setup.  Now we have a ten by ten booth resembling a boutique, participate in juried shows, and take 3 1/2 hours to set up and 2 1/2 hours  to break down.  We’ve been on a joyous ride that still leaves us breathless as to where we find ourselves in this stage of life.

As we’ve grown as a business, we’ve learned about the need to make changes, which isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s decisions about how to manage and balance time for business , life’s necessities, exercise and relaxation: or which direction we want to move in as jewelry designers or even what shows to attend. Compared to all the decisions needed for a website design, these are relatively simple choices to make.

Now we’re embarking on a significant website change requiring lots of questions and decision making. .Our first website was launched 8 years ago, and has quietly been sitting on the back burner while the “busyness” of building our little company kept propelling us forward.  Shows were our main avenue for developing customer relationships and increasing awareness of who we were and what we were all about. There’s been a lot of change and growth since that folding table in Danforth. The website wasn’t reflecting it. Feedback from customers helped us to create a beautiful, clear , easy to navigate website which truly reflected our desire  to share and showcase our unique jewelry.  Keep your eyes open, as we’re on our way!  It’s coming soon.   (The old website is alive and will be until the new one is launched).

We are really excited. It involves lots of choices and final decisions, but the designer and company I’m working with have a clear understanding of our vision which makes it so much easier.
