Curiosity and Creativity
Creativity requires input, and that’s what research is. You’re gathering material with which to build. Gene Luen Yang
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March. I have been inspired working with these luminous gemstones and learned that the name Aquamarine comes from the Latin aqua marinus, meaning “water of the sea,” and refers to its sparkling ocean-like color. I love to research the history of any of the gemstones we incorporate into our pieces, to hear about their history and meaning through time. Must be the science lover/teacher in me. From subtle shades of blue to sparkling faceted ones, Aquamarines have been so much fun to design with this week, resulting in a series of pieces ranging from earrings to a sparkling, Swarovski crystal enhanced bracelet.
