September 6, 2020: Open Doors to Change
My mother always told me the adage, “When one door closes, another one opens.” This summer, with a country reeling from the impact of a pandemic, we’ve witnessed first hand both the closing and opening of doors.
With all of our shows cancelled and pandemic restrictions, we’ve learned to adjust to the changes yielding from a completely different time schedule and mindset. For the past ten years, we’ve spent summer days in a creative frenzy in preparation for all of our shows and website. While participating in shows is highly rewarding, it can also be exhausting. This year, we’ve had more time to actually savor the beauty of where we live for four months of the year. We’re exercising more, eating better and feeling more balanced. We’ve also had time to pursue long-held dreams.
“When we make a habit of acting on the interests arising out of our authentic passions, our enthusiasm can open doors before we even realize the potential that lies beyond them.”
― Marian Deegan
I am hoping with our new line of photography that we can also reacquaint others with the wonder that exists all around us. Baby steps on this new path of creative exploration, led to the creation of three sets of nature cards: Blossoms of Hope (wildflowers and inspirational quotes), Sheer Loonacy (loons) and Bluebirds of Happiness. We hope to add matted and/or framed prints in the weeks to come. https://dreamscapejewelry.com/dreamscapes-visions-of-nature-photography/
In the meantime, we continue to create new jewelry, opening new doors and hope that the pandemic is over soon. We miss our family, customers, friends and the camaraderie of all the other artists at our shows.
As always, thank you for reading our blog. Please feel free to share it with someone who might find it meaningful and any thoughts you have in our comments. In the meantime, stay healthy and safe! Here are a few more inspirational quotes on the gift of open doors.
“Waiting insistently in front of a tightly closed door is unfair to all of the open doors! Give a chance to the open doors!”― Mehmet Murat ildan
“Once a person has declared “failure”, they cease to look for the alternate open door. When in reality it was just inches away and wide open.”― Lindsey Rietzsch,
“Trust the timing of your life. Keep focusing on putting one foot in front of the other, be kind, and follow your heart. Doors will open effortlessly, but first you have to be ready to walk through.”― Brittany Burgunder
“Opportunity doesn’t need to knock on your door if it’s always open.”― Matshona Dhliwayo
“Tomorrows door will only open when you walk through todays.”― Russell Taylor

Thanks so much for not only reading our blog, but responding to it as well. My intention with the photography is to help bring awareness of the wonders as you said, that surrounds us, hopefully to inspire people to preserve and protect our natural world. The inspirational quotes I pair with Blossoms of Hope card are to bring a sense of hope and positivity in a world that lately seems so troubled. Thank you for your appreciation, encouragement and support.
