Hummingbirds, despite their diminutive size, elicit a sense of awe and wonder over their quicksilver flying, dramatic acrobatics and jewel tone colors. Across cultures they have have a variety of symbolic meanings, ranging from devotion and good luck, to love, playfulness and resilience. These little birds are also respected as fierce fighters and defenders of their territory, showing us that it’s not the size that matters, but the spirit.
